Introduction

Listen up here. I know most people will not attempt this mod due to its extreme difficulty but this is what I do so be amazed

A customer wanted to swap B with Left Trigger. Over 10 people on the scene said it could not be done. Here I am to show you that this is not only the second time I'm doing it for him but this is proof for those people who say it cant be done....ITS DONE.

Required Supplies

  • Soldering iron
  • Solder
  • some thin wire

The Mod

Step 1 : Preparing the traces

First off open your controller and locate the A,B,Y,X button pads. Scrape the stuff that covers the traces and the pad with a razor blade arc'ed on its side. BE CAREFUL you can easily cut the trace. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/xboxexpert/xbox360tutorials/DSC01795Large.jpg

Step 2 : removing the trigger of choice

Next you need to remove the Left or Right Shooting Trigger's depending on what you want to have access to LB or RB. In this tutorial we are doing LT. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/xboxexpert/xbox360tutorials/DSC01796Large.jpg

Step 3 : Removing the actual trigger button

Then we need to remove the LT button its self. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/xboxexpert/xbox360tutorials/DSC01797Large.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/xboxexpert/xbox360tutorials/DSC01798Large.jpg

Step 4 : Preparing the trigger button

See those two leg's....BREAK THEM OFF CAREFULLY and re-solder the button in place. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/xboxexpert/xbox360tutorials/DSC01799Large.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/xboxexpert/xbox360tutorials/DSC01800Large.jpg

Step 5 : Wire it up

Run two wires from these points. Thread them though the hole so they come out the front side of the controller board and resolder you trigger. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/xboxexpert/xbox360tutorials/DSC01801Large.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/xboxexpert/xbox360tutorials/DSC01802Large.jpg

Run two more wires from the top leg's of the button. The button is going to feel loose but it will not come off the post trust me. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/xboxexpert/xbox360tutorials/DSC01803Large.jpg

Now heres the HARD part. You need to solder the two wires off the top post of the button to the small pad that used to be connected to the trace of B. Then you need to solder the backside two wires to the actual traces of B. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/xboxexpert/xbox360tutorials/DSC01806Large.jpg

Step 6 : Finishing up

Completed it should look exactly like this! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/xboxexpert/xbox360tutorials/DSC017995Large.jpg
